My wife just had her conformation about her new working hours when the current hemel site moves to the new Home Counties North Mail Centre, anyway she has been offered lates, even though she told them she simply cant do this due to childcare(she is currently on nights).
I have been trying my hardest this morning to contact this so called "advice centre",but it seEms the thing does'nt even exsist,no one at her place knows how to contact them.In the letter it states any problems contact them within 3 days, how the hell can we do that when no-one knows who or what the advice centre is????
To adD to that she is now on leave for 3 weeks so god knows what will happen.?????
WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome mate, will move this to the MC forum.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Your best bet, would be to tell her to contact her Rep ASAP. If her Rep doesn't know how to contact them, he/she will be able to intervene on her behalf. For example: extending the deadline, until it's possible to get the help/advice promised; fighting for her to stay on nights; changing to earlies, if that's acceptable and easier to arrange; etc..
Good luck, and please let us know how you get on.

The relocation has been and still is unbelieveable there is a couple who jobshare and are being told they cannot do so at Hemel and so will have to do so at Watford on walks.I was offered earlies in spite of never having done earlies because I don't drive and use public transport which outside London is non existent until 7 am luckily my Rep fought tooth and nail to get me a transfer to Greenford MC where i start tomorrow. No idea what job i'm on been told to report at 2pm in reception no contact name or number whilst being told how lucky i am to get to go there

Re: Hemel relocation/Advice centre=Absolute joke
I am not directly involved but I was under the impression that there was a joint seniority list for all the sites moving into the Hemel site and that there was a full and open resign for duties at Hemel.
Is this not the case ?

I am lead to believe that a processing resign will take place Feb/March 2012 after Stevenage & Hemel have completely moved their functions over to the new site in Maylands Ave,as far as i know a resign of the MGV drivers will take place as well..............
...........But be aware "goal posts are always being moved"

Well, I was lucky - I was one of the first in the place, in August, and kept the same shift (late), but it does seem that some people are getting mucked about somewhat more than somewhat.
Contact the union reps - that's what they're there for!

Re: Hemel relocation/Advice centre=Absolute joke
no it's not really the case you have to sign for a shift what is the same allowance as you are on now. i.e: if you are on a 2pm-10pm which gets an allowance you will have to go for that time on a resign.dingo wrote:I am not directly involved but I was under the impression that there was a joint seniority list for all the sites moving into the Hemel site and that there was a full and open resign for duties at Hemel.

Re: Hemel relocation/Advice centre=Absolute joke
You are matched to a shift and you will be in that very pot for the resign. There is no date for this resign, the original dates were 8th August which never happened and 5th September which also never happened its all due to the unresolved people who are still fighting their case. Its taking longer than expected but it needs to be done thoroughly.disheartened wrote:I am lead to believe that a processing resign will take place Feb/March 2012 after Stevenage & Hemel have completely moved their functions over to the new site in Maylands Ave,as far as i know a resign of the MGV drivers will take place as well..............
