Royal Mail bosses are to be questioned by councillors about the standard of service in a Surrey town.
Councillor Denzil Coulson, who chairs the overview and scrutiny committee at Woking Borough Council, said he wanted "clear answers".
The meeting, due to start at 1900 BST, was called following complaints from residents about the service.
Royal Mail has apologised to residents and said the delays were due to changes to its delivery routes.
'Clear answers'
Mr Coulson said some residents had complained about not receiving mail for several days.
He said: "Residents deserve a good postal service. We want to be certain first class post means exactly that.
"Hopefully we will get clear answers so that we can achieve workable solutions for our residents moving forward," he added.
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said it had reorganised its delivery routes in Woking and the changes were taking "a little while to bed in."
"We apologise to our customers for the disruption in service they may have experienced recently," she said.
