This is the barren site which will become the temporary home of Twickenham’s new post office.
The current post office in King Street is set to close its doors on Thursday and open from 8.30am on Friday at a temporary building in the Royal Mail sorting office car park, in London Road.
Residents have argued the new location is “bad news” for elderly customers who will have to travel out of the high street to the car park.
Twickenham MP Vince Cable has described it as “far from ideal”.
He urged the Post Office to step up the search for a permanent location.
A Post Office spokesman said the company was doing “all it can” to keep the period of the temporary facility as short as possible.
