A postman is attacked by a dog in Sussex almost every day, according to new figures.

A total of 968 postal workers have been attacked by dogs in the county in the last three years.

The statistics were revealed by the Royal Mail after a Freedom of Information request by The Argus.

Royal Mail officials said in extreme circumstances deliveries to addresses with dangerous dogs could be suspended and the local authorities and even the police called in to resolve issues with problem pets.

A spokeswoman said the company took the safety of staff very seriously.

Detailed advice is provided to all employees on how to reduce the risk of an attack by an animal.

Animals will only play out as animals if their stupid, f****d up owners allow themselves no responsibility in matters of dog handling. Hell, a dog license to them is the same thing as a tv license.
