Royal Mail bosses to face the music - Public Meeting on 27th January

A Royal Mail Public Meeting chaired by Jeremy Wright will be held at St Francis of Assisi Church Hall in Warwick Road in Kenilworth, starting at 7.30pm on Thursday January 27th. Full text from Jeremy Wright's website reads:

Royal Mail bosses to face the music - Public Meeting on 27th January

Kenilworth MP Jeremy Wright has persuaded Royal Mail bosses to face the music and attend a public meeting in the town

Mr Wright will chair the meeting, to be held on Thursday January 27th, at which householders will be able to quiz Royal Mail bosses about the state of the postal service.

Mr Wright said: “I am very pleased that Royal Mail have agreed to a public meeting. I think it is very important that my constituents get the opportunity to put their concerns to them face to face.”

Royal Mail spokesman Richard Hall said extra manpower had been used over the past week to help clear the backlog of mail and they were confident they would get back on track this week.

But Mr Wright added: “This isn’t just about clearing the Christmas backlog, which could in some part be justified by the extraordinarily harsh weather conditions, this is about concerns stretching back months. My constituents are looking, not just for explanations, but for clear reassurances that the delivery service in Kenilworth is not going to carry on being second rate.”

The meeting, which is open to everyone, will be held at St Francis of Assisi Church Hall in Warwick Road in Kenilworth, starting at 7.30pm on Thursday January 27th. Representatives from Royal Mail will include David Wright, delivery sector manager for the Kenilworth area.
