Postman attackers caged

TWO thug brothers from Wigan who launched a brutal attack on a postman neighbour have been caged for a total of five-and-a-half years.
Judge Nigel Gilmour, QC told Dean and Jak Lyon that the attack, which shattered their victim’s jaw, had been described by a witness as “a vicious assault.”
“It involved at times, when he was on the floor, both of you kicking and punching him,” he said.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that the victim, Thomas Cahillane, had been walking home with his family in the early hours of New Year’s Day when the incident occurred.
They tried to avoid a confrontation by crossing the road, but 24-year-old Dean Lyon instigated violence by shouting: “Let’s get Postman Pat!”
Judge Gilmour told him that it had been his aggressive, unlawful behaviour that led to his younger brother getting involved.
Once Jak Lyon did join in, he played “a significant role” and had to be pulled away.
Mr Cahillane suffered two fractures to his jaw and, when giving evidence at the trial, told how he is still suffering from numbness to parts of his jaw and lip.
The judge jailed Dean Lyon for three and a half years and sentenced 18-year-old Jak to two years’ detention. The brothers, both of Warrington Road, Abram, had been found guilty of wounding with intent following a trial. They did not give evidence.
The attack took place in Warrington Road as the victim and his family were on their way home after a night out.
The court heard the brothers have a previous conviction for battery four years ago.
Robert Elias, defending, said that Dean accepts his behaviour had led to his younger brother’s becoming involved, a fact he regrets.
Defence barrister Gerard Doran said that Jak was vulnerable and easily led.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Postman attackers caged
When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
