OFFICES WITH A WORKING REVISION.

Post by POSTMAN »

Plenty of info on here on the failed ones,so would rather not have you post about that in here.
Can we only have ones that are working or ones that you feel will get better in time.

If your revision is NOT working then please use the thread below...
OFFICES WITH A FAILING REVISION.

Reason: Put in link to failed revision thread!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

bobbla, I think what Postman is trying to ask is for positive examples revisions....and posting 2 posts that are totally negative AND add nothing to any level of debate are worse than useless, and imho Postman should consider deleting them.

Think of Postman's request as a sort of scientific method....the only way to prove if RM & the CWU are right or wrong to be pursuing the course they are, is to get the full facts, without prejuding any results....if it happens that it fails everywhere, we can say "We told you so!", but if it works in 50, 40, 20, 10, 5% of offices, or only in rural offices, or only urban offices or only small, or big offices, or whatever correlation there is ( if any ) then we can look at those positive results, consider our options and what we want, and respond to RM & CWU accordingly...sort of "It works in some places, but everywhere else, YOU have f*cked it up by imposing national standards that don't take account of local conditions or local agreements."

If you got bored reading the above, just please remember to think about what you type, and check it adds something to a debate before you hit "submit"
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

I am confident that the revison for my D.O will be working well by the end of the PIR period.

If all goes to plan implementation will be next week with 2 in 6 sats off kicking in once the Sat only PT staff have been recruited and trained which will be no later than early Jan.

The rural delivery going might be challenging but with a 2 week period coming up of no annual leave there is a back up plan

A few questions Daz:
1. is it a Walk Sequenced Mail revision?
2. is it a deliver methods revision?
3. is it a revision using IWT?
4. is it a revision using pegasus?
5. is the revision based on summer traffic levels?

If the answer to the baulk of those questions is no, then it is in no way comparable to the "failing revisions" that many of us are having.

Exactly how many phases under the 6 Phase Revision sign off have you covered.............because as far as your "revision" goes you don't appear to have covered any of the criteria set out in the revision process. The "self starter" revision is an old expression for what was table top revisions and in no way shape or form does it correspond to the 2010 agreement.

You best take your concerns up with the senior reps in my divsison then dvbukk55 as they and RML decided that a lack of planners would not delay revison activty and the reasoning behind that I have made known on more than one occassion. As a local rep AND as a OPG Im content with the reasoning provbided. Even if I wasnt I would still my job as a local rep and try and get a set of proposals together that the local mbrs will vote yes to.

The FACTS are that at least 2 revisions have to take place one of which is termed a non sequenced mail revision, now what I want from you dvbuk55 as your seem to be cleverer than me is to point me in to the section of 2010 that says what happens during a non sequnced mail revsion because I cant find it.

Now Ive just read delivery methods section of BT210 and it dosent give any indication as to which of the two revisions it should be introduced with, so forgive me if I fail to accept you assertion that its hould be part of the non sequenced mail revision.

All I can find on non walk sequencing revision is "£200 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit on deployment of their first non walk sequencing revision.""

The use of the word first is interesting, it implies there can be a second, third or even more non sequenced mail revisions. :hmmmm

Any thoughts on that boys and girls?

A few questions Daz:
1. is it a Walk Sequenced Mail revision? NO
2. is it a deliver methods revision? NO
3. is it a revision using IWT? YES
4. is it a revision using pegasus? NO, we had a pegasus revision implemented in Novemeber 2008 though
5. is the revision based on summer traffic levels? Weeks 41 to 44 and National average container fills rather than MC fill figures.

If the answer to the baulk of those questions is no, then it is in no way comparable to the "failing revisions" that many of us are having. I dont understand the point you making here, a revison is a revision and this thread is about revisons that work which in turns allows us to try and asscertain if there any reoccurring patterns for revison that are working that can then be deployed to those which are not working.

I not having a go at you Daz, the point i was making is that the revisions which are failing are a yes on all those questions, so to say your office revision is likely to work is hardly comparing like with like. Given the answers you've supplyied i'm not surprised that it may work if we had a revision like that it would too.

You will in the future though have a rvision with a yes to all of these and it won't work.
I take the point you make in your last sentance, i was viewing it from a diffrent angle....That by saying these offices (like yours) are working, then it may scewe the figures making it look like some office revisions are working and some arn't.
When the reality is more likely to be WSM revisions are failing, self starters are working.

When I saw this topic come back to life I got excited thinking that somewhere it had worked . Talk about bursting my bubble  . Me and my p&l buddy are on a role , we've cleared on time two days on the trot . Something tells me we won't be making it three days on the trot .

Rhino on here seems to be pretty pleased with his revision?? it did make me wonder why that was?does the effective
performance set at the start of the revision have any bearing??so for complete
like for like basis the E.P. of the revision should be stated??.. or maybe ive had too many Talisker hot toddies...planet
earth is blue and theres nothing i can do..... :arrrghhh
