Author's Description:

The UK Communications Workers Union – covering the postal industry (such as British Mail) has a fantastic, high quality “TV” channel online.

The production qualities for CWU TV are very high, and it is up to date, covering recent issues like the UK Labour leadership vote. The interviews are also relatively indepth, covering topics in quite a lot of detail. With the entire episode going for just under 20 minutes, this web-TV show looks like a fantastic resource for members and the public – as well as getting out the union’s campaigns and activities that aren’t covered by the mainstream media.

The CWU TV website has all of the union’s videos – which is quite a few. I also think the website is quite good as well – as it clearly displays the various “channels”, and has an accessible archive.

The only suggestion that I would make a much shorter 90 second “highlights” video, so members can get “the headlines” without watching such a long video.

The CWU TV site is a great resource. I haven’t looked at all of the videos there, but there seem to be quite a number of “channels”, focusing on different aspects of the union’s activities.
