Tens of thousands of pupils are due to receive their exam results by text and email, a day before the postal delivery.

Around 35,000 candidates have signed up to the MySQA service to receive their results from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

This is an increase of around 7,000 on the numbers who opted for the service last year.

Only this morning as I trudged my weary bod round my delivery, I wondered when the Queen will stop sending out 100th Birthday Telegrams and replace them with a text message.
"Congrats on ur bday 100 bst wshes q.xxx"

Queen Elizabeth gets a new BlackBerry

OTTAWA — Queen Elizabeth II received a BlackBerry handset as a gift on Monday while touring the Canadian headquarters of its maker, Research in Motion.

The monarch is said to be a fan of the popular smartphones, ever since her her son, Prince Andrew, introduced her to them a few years ago.
