The Central Mail Exchange (CME) yesterday said no disciplinary action would be taken against the employees who took part in the Trade Union action against the non reinstatement of four workers suspended under charges of financial misappropriation.

The protest that went on for four days from July 22, ended after it was agreed to reinstate the four suspended employees and suspend the investigations regarding the financial fraud. As a result of the work to rule campaign by the registration section of the CME, Deputy Postmaster General, R.D.P. Gamini said about 50,000 letters had been piled up and they were all scheduled to be delivered yesterday.

“We resumed work at midnight on July 26, after the work to rule ended and will finish delivering all the letters by Tuesday evening,” the Deputy Postmaster General explained.

He said most of the undelivered letters were under registered post and some were ordinary letters.

The management of the CME also agreed that any circulars that were sent to disrupt the trade union action would be withdrawn.

Regarding the withdrawal of the circulars, the Deputy Postmaster General said these decisions had to be made so as to ensure a smooth flow of work.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
