Witness appeal following post office burglary in Thornton-le-Dale

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a post office in Ryedale.
The man, who had a Liverpool accent, stole £1,500 from the till in Thornton-le-Dale Post Office by distracting a staff member and asking for help with some boxes on Thursday at 1.15pm.
He is described as 35 to 40-years-old, clean shaven, with short, brown hair and a stocky build. He was wearing an emerald green shirt with stripes and three quarter length shorts.
PC Andy Hardey, of Ryedale's Safer Neighbourhood Team, said officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the man before or after the theft and the vehicle he was driving.
