A HILLFARRANCE woman has given the Royal Mail her stamp of approval after a postie delivered a letter with only a sketchy address.
The Isle of Wight sender wrote to agree with Sally Woodbury’s views on Romany gypsies and travellers on Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine Show.
All Taunton sorting office had to go on was the envelope addressed to ‘Mrs Sally Woodberry, Romany Gypsy lady living on land Taunton, Deven. Please try to deliver this. Many thanks’.
Mrs Woodbury (pictured) said: “They spelt my name wrong and the address wasn’t much to go on, while Taunton is in Somerset, not Devon, yet it still got here.
“The Royal Mail did an amazing job.”
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “This is a prime example of how our postmen and women will go the extra mile to deliver for their customers, using their knowledge and skills to get mail to its destination even against the odds.”
But she added that as a general rule it is important for people to provide a full address, including postcode, to ensure mail reaches its destination.

If that letter had arrived at my frame then it would've been endorsed without even thinking about it, too much work now to go on an investigation to work out someones half arsed addressing.
