MAIL bosses are asking people to contact them if they are worried about missing items after a postman's car was broken into.

About 60 items were taken from a locked boot of the delivery worker's vehicle in Quantock Road on March 12.

Royal Mail has started an investigation after the items destined for Exeter Road and Malvern Road were stolen.

In a letter sent to the affected houses, delivery office manager Paul Maddern said: "I am writing to offer my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused resulting from this theft."

He added that the company places the highest priority on letters security and was helping the police with their enquiries.

Worried householders can call the company on 08457 740740, while witnesses are asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
