A MOTORIST has admitted causing the death of a father-of-four by careless driving and will be sentenced later this month.
Paul Chester pleaded guilty to the charge at Liverpool Crown Court that relates to the death of motorcyclist Anthony Cave, 40.
The well-known postman, of Dentons Green Lane, was fatally injured after his Suzuki motorbike was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Zafira at the junction of Crab Street and Duke Street, St Helens on June 3 last year.
Chester, aged 38, of Cranberry Close, St Helens, entered his guilty plea this week.
Members of Anthony’s family were in court to hear the plea.
Defence barrister, Eric Lamb, told the court his client wished to apologise and extend his sympathies to Mr Cave’s family.
Judge David Aubrey QC adjourned sentencing for reports to be carried out.
He further remanded Chester on bail to await sentencing on March 31.
