Empty Promises

Post by Debbie »

Am I right in thinking ,not only in 2007 but years before that, Royal Mail have made promises of pay rises over so many years, bonus if local targets met, shorter working week, fair walks , lighter loads ect ect ect. what a load of bulls**t.
the last deal said pay rise over three years, well im still waiting.
im a good £80 pw down on what i was earning this time last yr, due to ban of overtime and my workload has doubled, my wages dont even pay the bills anymore so i have to do two cleaning jobs to make it up.
im p/t and earn @ £16 pw for d2d so i think im done for, will have to get a job on the steets soon  ( Tried before but ended up costing me with all the fefunds lol)
all im saying guys and girls is , any of you who look at this as a tempting and fair offer ( god forbid you ) then think very carefully, the only winners in this agreement is RM. we the workforce and the customer once again will loose out big time. we are the people who make RM so its about time we made ourself heard. without us RM would not be, so all you do gooders  and all you hard workers :Applause . we wont get another chance if we vote this offer in. im def voting NO NO NO NO NO.

i think most on here agree with you debbie, but i fear it will be voted in by either the union lying to us, or by the lump sum crew

Debbie,if they stick with the MTFS terms, and you have full time vacancies then under the way forward full time vacancies will be given to a part timer who wishes to go full time.

Worked for us as per the interim. All vacancies went to the reserves for six months then put up for signing. The public get to see a regular postie at least.Absorptions reduced and duty holders put back on their duties.

people seem unhappy, but if more supported the Union and showed stronger support when the strikes were on things might be different, I know we all feel like the Union has let us down but all those that crossed the picked lines have made it harder to negotiate if we do not stick together we might as well give up!

But surely the 'lump sum' crew must appreciate that they're not gaining anything. They'll get the money that is labelled as lump sums later when the Colleague Shares reach fruition. It is NOT extra money. Or is one of the mysterious amendments going to alter that.

trust me royal mail under this agreement will not make any part timers up to full time what they plan on is enploying more full timers who will come in to the job on a lower wage and no pension just like in america there is quotes on the internet that royal mail have allready been out there to see how they work they have done all this park and loop for years they even buy ther own rounds from the post office and get a set amount ov money for delivering it ie they will look at the round and on a 8 week rota and see how much mail it gets and decide on a paymen ie quite 8 weeks you would be payed 300 dollers a week busy 8 weeks 350 dollers a week no overtime hours must be banked this way the post office over there makes a killing how long till it happens over here

President Obama recently announced that despite the US postal service's trouble he will not sell it off as private companies only want the "best bits"
