A Northern Ireland woman has told how a parcel delivered to her home by Royal Mail was lost after it was left in a recycling box.
Nola Gordon, from Carryduff, said it was put there by her postman because she was out at the time.

However, the recycling box was then emptied.

Royal Mail said it should have been brought back to one of their offices. Mrs Gordon said she thought the package was sent by her son in Australia.

"In it was a present for myself, made by my daughter in Australia," she said.

"A present from my other grandson, who is coming tomorrow, but it was Royal Mail who, I think, the carelessness and the thoughtlessness of was ridiculous.

"I mean it's a huge risk sticking something into that. My box was reasonably full so I think there's a chance it might have clicked that these boxes might be emptied.

"I'm not looking for anybody to lose their job or anything ridiculous like that but I'd like them to wise up and think about what they are doing."

Plus, the kerbies are sorted at the kerbside and the people sorting it would have seen something that was not for recycling and they should've returned it (along with a note explaining what can and cannot be recycled).
