Remember the 1st one?

POLICE are investigating after thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and mobile phones were stolen from a Royal Mail van - the second time in a matter of weeks.

The vehicle had been parked outside Asda in Southampton city centre when the daylight theft took place.

The value of what was taken is not yet known but it's thought to run into several thousands of pounds worth of goods.

The latest raid happened a week ago, on December 2, but police have only just released details. The thieves struck sometime between 9.30am and 10.05am while the vehicle was parked outside the store.

It happened just around the corner from the previous Royal Mail delivery van theft, which happened outside Bonmarche behind The Mall Marlands on November 17.

Police are investigating the latest incident and are not ruling out that both are linked.

Anyone with information is asked to call Shirley CID on 101.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

"Police believe both were linked..." Yeah, right Mr Plod, they were both robberies!
Oh, and as they were both early mornings, they can rule out unemployed teenagers.

Where it says at the end to ring Shirley CID - does that mean the woman who works in Cid is called Shirley or is it a place?

There's two Srirleys though, one in Southampton, one in Solihull.
Two mail van robberies in Southampton which is a port. won't be long before the Daily Mail concluded it's foreigners just off the boat that's to blame.
