Listeners

In recent weeks, there has been an advert in our office looking for Royal Mail 'Listeners'.

I can only assume from the description that the role is similar to that of a councilor's, ie a contact for staff members who do not wish to talk directly to management or the union.

Has anybody on the forum had any experience of this? For example, been involved in the role or know anything more about it?

Yes our DIM asked about it at WTL. Basically it is just Royal mail version of Samaritans

RM only keen on introducing listeners to lower the B&H cases numbers against their managers.

We were told that you get issued with a (RM paid for) mobile phone, and you can get calls from people all over the country, not just in your own office!

Me i would listen ... You might not want to tell me anything??? But i would listen....

Well thats wot RM do aint it???? I think we already have these listening times there called... .,,,,,,, wait for it....... WTL ... TAAAAA DAAAAAAAA!!!

This is just a piss take so RM can do away with ATOS or old EHS... Even cutting back on our health plans.... Nice and caring old RM aint they... Do it yourself... RM.... And they say so its so people who might not want to tell a screw or a ATOS worker??? BOLLOX.. Its just so they dont have to employe people from a un bias orginisation.... Dont fall for it....... There ar DR's and help centers if you need help.... Not lip service from RM.. If they were trully bothered they would listen to the EHS/ATOS.... And not shun there advice as they do.....
