Quoting Original Posts

How come we can't use the 'Quote' button on Original Posts?
I'm sure we used to have one, but doesn't seem to be there now.

Too many people were quoting the WHOLE post when replying,it is not needed and at times screws the thread up if a lot do it.
How come we can't use the 'Quote' button on Original Posts?
It's simple enought to quote just part of the post.

tbh do we really need to quote the whole post,or is it something you guys want back?
POSTING GUIDELINES/RULES wrote:Please quote carefully - Please don't over-use the quoting feature - most replies won't need to quote anything. Lots of unneccessary quoting results in long pages that take ages to download and read. However, do use this function if you are replying to a post several pages higher in the thread.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I'm not very IT literate, so I am not able to just lift a bit out of an OP.
If it's just a sentence I want to quote I can type it in myself.
But it's a bit tedious if I want to quote more than just a sentence.
When we had the 'Quote' button on OPs I could delete anything I didn't
want to repeat, and just quote the bit I did want.

If it's just a sentence I want to quote I can type it in myself.
You can copy/paste,then highlight it when you post it then click the 'quote' tag and it will quote like above.Test it in this thread.
The problem we had was others were multiple quoteing and it was a mare.
But,if the general feeling is that the members want the function back,i've no probs putting it back.
As long as it's not abused.
