Strike times?

Just wondering what time the Mail centres are walking out from? I work in delivery (6am start) and thinking what effect it will have on our delivery day tomorrow? Cheers guys and all the best!

Thanks mate. Not sure about those times though, as in the disruption effect? That means most mail will be sorted up until 4.00 am so managers will then drive it out to us and as we dont strike till Friday will have very little effect tomorrow? Am I reading this wrong but wouldnt a walk about around 8pm tonight (Wednesday) for 24 hrs have a better result?

agree with you,most of the damage for delivery will be saturday and monday even 12.00-12.00 for both days would have done. Think from what I gather a bit of a debate on the best way to plan the stikes, but thats what the executive for.

if too many yorks arrive at our DO on friday/saturday our Rep will have a field day on H&S as we are a small office.

The idea is to create a backlog of mail. This can be achieved by not working Friday on delivery. Saturday is a shorter day so if people come in at the correct time, do their job safely and properly, no o/t working - there is no way the mail will get cleared on saturday. You keep the mail rolling over day-by-day .. the idea is to disrupt the flow, not stop it altogether, although that would be a bonus

Our guys were told to finish their night shift, it is not a walkout at 4am, some work until 8am, this is stupid, also I raised the fact people will be in on sunday doing their sa, this is a joke, digging the mail centre out and making up their money.
