Royal Mail in £19.5m contract win

In the face of continuing industrial action, Royal Mail has won a £19.5m contract with the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

The three-year contract will see the postal service collect 960,000 packages of unmarked scripts from 5,500 examination centres and deliver them to approximately 50,000 examiners and six scanning bureaus throughout England.

The contract win couldn't have come at a more fortuitous time for the postal service, which is attempting to stave-off a nationwide strike by employees.

Last week, rumours were circulating that Amazon, one of Royal Mail's biggest customers, had terminated a long-term contract with the postal carrier amid concerns that a planned national strike could severely disrupt deliveries during the pre-Christmas period.

Amazon tells Roadtransport.com that it is "working on contingency measures with other carriers" in case planned industrial action takes place.

I am sorry I have to confess whenever I see a post like this from Night Tonic I always think of these 2
