Ref. 60000
Date: 2nd October 2009
TO: ALL BRANCHES WITH POSTAL MEMBERS
Dear Colleague
Update on Royal Mail Dispute
Talks continued this week covering a resolution to current local disputes and all the issues associated with Phase 4 of the Pay and Modernisation Agreement and our National Industrial Action Ballot.
Further meetings have been arranged for next week.
In the meantime Branches should refocus their efforts over the final few days of the ballot to ensure we maximise support for a Yes Vote.
Further developments will be reported in due course.
----------------------------------------
So does that mean we are getting somewhere, or should we be upping the pressure on RM to the next level?

no both sides are waiting to see if its a yes and then how big a yes then we will agree to all sorts of stupid "trials" then we on the ground wont see any benefits apart from probably a 1% rise, but i would like to see a big yes followed by an all out strike and no compromise its about time RM compromised

Our Union have to show back bone from the top down, if they don't do it this time, (and assuming we still have a Union at the end of it) we as members must put forward new faces.
