Since we started taking a lot of work from another local MC(no doubt RM trying to condense 2or3 MC into 1,as in other parts of the country)i can honestly say,from when i start,til when i leave,me and my fellow mech operators don't stop ,and because the powers that be,dont want to create extra duties/overtime(Extra saving = Extra bonuses for managers!)we are now doing 500k a shift when it was 300k,with the same amount of staff!All relief breaks are now covered(often by managers!!) Just wondering if its like this in any other MCs that have taken in extra work,or wether its just us being screwed into the ground?!

Oh I doubt you're the only one - I'm doing the work of 3 full&part timers and they still wont put more hours on the job, I'm part time FFS! As for managers working, you're having a laugh right?

We're getting less work.
Partly because of the decline in incoming foreign mail.
But also because management are diverting our work to other MCs
to encourage people to take VR/EVR as they can't afford to live on
the basic wage without SA/OT, and to punish us for taking IA.

Don't want to worry you
but if work is often being diverted they may be testing the capacity of these other centres
with a view to cutting you right out of the picture some at time in the future.

Yeah, we're aware of that, particularly as RM are looking to close one of the three MCs in London.
But the MCs who are accepting diversions should realise that RM could also divert work from them
if they decide they want to close that MC.
