I have been told my by area rep that the national union are close to a national agreement, so if what he said is right, then how come there is so much unrest still? Surely if progress were being made in talks then surley they would of told there managers and everything would of been put on hold.
Am I being told porkies here?

Re: Just another thought
I doubt it. Don't forget: Until any agreement is signed. Nothing will change, and RM will carry on regardless.
The last I heard (15/09/09), the talks were going well. So it's possible that things are still going well. With any luck, we might be able to get this sorted out, without having to cause any disruption over Christmas. Although it's still important to get a yes vote in the National Ballot, in case the talks fail. Plus of course, it's a major barganing chip too.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Just another thought
there are talks going on and not much information is being shared but some senior union officials only believe there will be an agreement after a yes vote and if royal mail were serious there would not be a need for the ballot
