Has David Brent from BBC comedy The Office got a job as a Royal Mail manager? Two leaked letters seen by Socialist Worker suggest this possibility.
In a memo to workers in his delivery office in east London, Trevor Williams lists a series of attacks that he has managed to push through as if they were a shared badge of honour.
“Who reduced their rest day overtime?” he asks. “You did,” comes the answer. “Who challenged the four-day week and changed it back to five-day attendances? You did.”
Trevor concludes with more mystical thoughts: “I asked if you would join me on the journey. You are certainly on the journey and a rollercoaster of a journey it is!!”
But in a memo to junior managers in north London, Nicholas Berry reveals bosses’ problems over planned cuts:
“The quicker you get to your opportunity, the better it will be for us. I am feeling the pressure from my boss, so you need to act to remove that pressure for me. I am not looking for reasons why this cannot be done. I am looking for you to say why it will be done.”

I've heard about this email,funny as f**k.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
