Dont want to sound negative guys but are 24 hour strikes really worth it?
I along with plenty of other guys lost several days pay in 2007 and i am of the opinion if we are going out lets loose 7 days pay together and really make an impact rather then loosing 7 days pay over 3/4 weeks and gaining jack shi t

I agree.
If Royal Mail knew that a 7 day walkout was planned for a certain date, they may be more inclined to pay attention. Set a date, leaving time for talks and for us posties to get our cash/finances in a half decent place to deal with the loss of pay. If the strike happens, then so be it, if it doesn't, it'll (hopefully) be for a good reason and we don't lose the pay.

I agree 100% been out for 10 weeks including today and 1 day srikes do not work,also whoever came up with the idea of standing aside and letting drivers through picket lines (our leaders probably) is plain stupid if you want to win you have to force as many people out as possible and then the CWU have to support them for as long as it takes whether unofficial/official and bring this to a conclusion or we are going to keep on losing money for nothing.The men at the top of the CWU do not convince me one little bit that they are up for the fight, this national ballot should have been out months ago, been forced into it by local ballots all because they signed off on the pay&mod which was open to so much interpretation to which RM now use as flexability and ignore the rest.So now the members are being trampled upon locally thanks to Pay&Mod and are now standing up will the men at the top stop f*****G around and protect them and there futures.

Well said. If those at the top of the CWU are'nt up for a fight then step aside and let some-one who is take their place.

Members voted for industral Action which tells Managment that they need to change

When we get a yes vote for national Industrial action, the union should use this action/oppertunity to work to rule "Doing the job properly"
Managment can't stand that

Just remember if not for the brave actions of individual offices who said enough was enough when the
barstewards brought in extra workloads by executive action we would'nt be having the ballot for national action
& Big Billy would still be sitting on his fat erse waiting to be parachuted into the hoose of lords.
Its the actions taken firstly by Scotland no 2 & then by our colleagues doon in London which have brought
the CWU leadership to its senses cos this is the fight to the finish

I'm proud of my offices actions & I'm proud of our 2 office reps & I was proud to have been out on strike Saturday

My personal feeling is that when we get the yes vote we should announce a five day strike(fri-tues) i hope to god we dont start doing functional or 1 dayers I accept this would be difficult but i think this is a win or lose fight, one that we must win
