Job cuts threaten first class service

ON THURSDAY, August 25, I arrived home after visiting the dentist with my son to find a card which had been left by the postman.

He had a parcel for me but as it was too big to fit through the letterbox, he had to take the parcel away.

My neighbours kindly offered to take me to Scotia Road depot to collect said parcel and bring me home again. Thanks, Frank and Elaine.

Soon afterwards, there was a knock at the door and there stood the postman.

He had taken the time to try again to deliver my parcel and there was no complaint from him at having to make two journeys to my house. He was just pleased that he could get my parcel to me. Thank you, Mr Postman.

To think Royal Mail managers are causing upset and taking jobs off all these postal workers.

Shame on them. There people chose to work, chose to pay taxes and then their managers decided to throw most of these hard working people out of their jobs.

If this happens, our postal system will suffer.

What will happen in the winter? What happens if roads are closed because of weather conditions? Will Wolverhampton cope with the excess post at Christmas?

Will it mean we have to wait longer to receive letters and parcels? I wish these managers would leave the postal workers alone and keep things as they are.
