Hours being cut from 'preferenced' offices?

This is mainly for those offices that know they are part of the 85 being preferenced.

NOT including the temporary contracts that are already going, how many hours are coming out of your office?

This is the one and only thing that our staff and managers want to know, but apparently NOBODY from POL or CWU knows

We where told at wtl that at the moment we are three hours over, but meanwhile a new fss has been set on, 35 hours. So we don't know where we stand now.

Depends which way the wind is blowing in our office. I have heard almost every number between 71 and 5.

This is an easy one. POL have for the last 2 years been saying that the FSS role must be self funding out of the AWD for any particular office.
Therefore, if they deem a new FSS is needed they will take someone off the counter either by EVR or moved to another office, then using those hours to pay for the FSS. Simples.

so what you are saying there is that we could end up with lots of FSS's and hardly anyone doing the real work in serving the queue.

In a roundabout sort of way.

Although the general rule is, if you have lots of referrals then 2-3 FSS is the norm. I know of no office that has 4.

Regardless of this though, the self funding aspect is what has buggered the counter coverage.

Are there any examples out there yet of people being transferred to other offices as a result of external FSS recruitment? In other words, new FSS's being recruited, creating a supernumerary, and existing staff being moved as a result?

Just found out today we will loose 2 full timers, we are struggling as it is with the staff we have now, god knows what it will be like.

Likewise in our office - we beleive we are to loose 2 full time duties and the person on the special event contract - we are unable to cope at times -its ok though because we have just taken on another fss - i think its going to be interesting

Just a quick question, we have been asked if we want to reduce our hours, does this come under buy back or can they just do it by agreement or can they just impose it. Thanks.Think they are now thinking of the cheapest way to reduce hours,
