Postcomm issues new licence to Yellow Jersey Delivery LTD

Postcomm has today issued a new licence to Yellow Jersey Delivery Limited.

The licence takes into account the requirements of the new licensing framework that came into force on 1 January 2006, as amended in January 2008 and further modified in December 2008.

Yellow Jersey Delivery Limited was granted a licence (pdf, 244KB) on 10 August 2009.

Under the licensing arrangements:

* Yellow Jersey Delivery Limited must comply with the Mail Integrity Code and the Common Operational Procedures Code.
* licensed area mail carried by Yellow Jersey Delivery Limited will, unless exempted, carry a unique mail identification code marking Yellow Jersey Delivery Limited as the licensed operator responsible for carrying it.

Yellow Jersey Delivery is a bicycle based urban delivery service operating in Coventry. Using trailers and special cargo bikes from Holland, Yellow Jersey distributes a huge variety of envelopes, parcels, boxes and other items thereby serving the delivery requirements of a wide range of businesses and organisations.

Loads that are too heavy for our bikes are conveyed by our new ELECTRIC VAN, allowing us to cater for any load whilst still remaining a sustainable delivery service.

Postcomm consults on licence application from Mr Peter Camplin (trading as Wightpost)

Postcomm has began a 30 day consultation on the proposed grant of a postal operator's licence to Mr Peter Camplin, a sole trader, trading as Wightpost.

Under the licensing framework that took effect from 1 January 2006, was amended in January 2008 and further modified in December 2008, the licence would:

* allow Mr Camplin to provide all types of postal service;
* be issued for a rolling ten year period; and
* require him to comply with codes of practice on mail integrity (safety and security of the mail) and common operational procedures (designed to ensure the multi-operator market works well in practice).
