any truth regarding strikes

as you know tomorrow london delivery postmen are working from 6-10am then stopping and the next 2 days starting 2 hrs later than normal instead of having a one day strike, well one of my friends who is a postman has just told me that management are speaking to their solicitors to see if we do this can they stop a days wages. any one know anything about this if true or not. its bad enough losing one days pay,but could you imagine losing 3 even though you were in for some of the day. surely its illegal to do this

I would say it is illegal not to pay them for hours worked, although they would be able to deduct for hours not worked.







So, looks like DOM's, DIMS, DUMS, and Lino's will get nothing in their wage this week! :nana :nana :nana

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Had a read through and correct me if I'm wrong, but this means that any extended time out on delivery due to busier days MUST be paid according to this?

As far as I'm aware, yes, you're right. But some people are quite happy to work for free. :arrrghhh

That's true. In our office there are plenty of people who work 2.5 hours every week for no pay. Others come back late but don't book because they are intimidated by the DOM.
