Transfers
Hi all, new to this forum and just like to ask a question. I started with Royal Mail just over 1 year ago, and to be honest im finding it pretty s**t as im on a different duty every day and never knowing what my day off will be. Now im expecting to be put on a permanent duty of course, but my DOM just seems to make a habit of pissing me around. Im just wondering if theres a chance of getting a transfer to a mail centre? and if im full time just now, would I get full time at a mail centre, or could my hours be cut if it happens. thanks for any help

Re: Transfers
Personally, I would expect to be offered worse terms and conditions if I put in for a transfer. Nothing with this barmy company is ever straightforward anymore, anyone putting in for a transfer could be seen by management as a means towards achieving their target part-time workforce.
Sorry, I can't be more help, but I'd sooner let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak.

Re: Transfers
Mail centres are being closed and staffing cut all over the country, so it's pretty unlikely,
but if you did manage to get a transfer into one it would probably be as a Part Timer, and
PT OPGs in Mail Centres are mainly on evening or night attendances.

Re: Transfers
it may be worth a try, as a mail centre near to me are asking for a number of full time jobs, the correct process is to advertise local within, then go to the transfer list, then if still needed advertise at the job centre. good luck
