Apologies if there is already a thread pertaining to this:

I am aware that the Union has discussed unionising workers in other delivery companies, such as TNT and DHL, but what's the status of this debate?

It seems to make sense that the best way to protect working standards in the industry is to include all delivery workers in the same union.

Any thoughts or insights?

Some of the stories that there workers have to tell show every clearly the need for a strong union to look after them.

Let's that happens!

I was thinking of a more inclusive approach. Like all members fully informed about any negotiations with management,all members fully informed about reps voting records, In short ,complete transparency ,total accountability , mandated reps and zero wriggle room or spin space.

Shame the Labour 2005 manifesto has wriggle room, that being the lack of the word wholly before pubicly owned Royal Mail thus allowing the goverment wiggle room as they can say the 2005 manifesto did not specify to what extent Royal Mail would be publicly owned!

Since then the word wholly has been inserted in party policy but the government wish to ignore it. The Labour Government is unaccountable to the Labour Party and certainly has no power to univite Gordon Brown from being prime minster as he holds that role at the bequest of the Queen.

The Labour Government have not gone to the people with a policy of wholly owned Royal Mail , that was not due untill next year!
