Alternative ownership models for Royal Mail...

C'mon then guys bit of a technical question but as the title suggests what other ownership models would work for RM and do they have a chance? Cant remember where i saw it but an MP i think is going to put forward an alternative model to private involvement this week...

They cited Network Rail and Welsh Water as shining examples of how the public sector can work. I know a bit about Network Rail but tbh its the same as RM is now. Independant company owned by Govt.

What happened to the union's idea of a Not For Profit Royal Mail, this was being mentioned back in 2005 and was quietly dropped off the radar.

A wholly-owned public sector Royal Mail with all profits re-invested back into the business and staff is my preffered way forward. Mandelson has to change his dogmatic ideals, if Mandelson hadn't of come back to the HoL we wouldn't be where we are now!

I like his idea but to go fully behind it I would like to see the meat on the bones of the plan. However a "not for Profit" does fit better into my idea of a Service driven Royal Mail as opposed to a profit driven one..
