Advice please on RM procedure of
If you are counselled, do you have to sign a document and is there a validity date on it?
If a document that outlines an issue and has to be signed confirming this is it a 'written warning' - and what constitutes a written warning - and how does it differ from a counselling document? Also what length of validity does it carry?
cheers

Re: Written warning! is it or isn't it?
If you receive a written warning I would expect that by law they would have to inform you that you were being issued one. They should invite you for a meeting outlining the problem. At the meeting you will be given the opportunity to defend yourself preferably with your rep about their so called allegation. If they decide to issue you with a written warning then they will tell you and give you a copy. I would not have thought they would need your signature for this but you would certainly get a copy of the warning which will include written warning within the letter along with the length of time it is valid for. Hope this helps
