The British Postal Museum & Archive (BPMA) has chosen Churchward Village in Swindon to create its new museum and archive centre.
The move will enable ongoing access to its unique resources, providing purpose-built facilities to care for its wide-ranging collections - covering themes ranging from British social history to communications design - and a superb gallery for permanent and temporary exhibitions. The proposed development will also allow growth space for the archive, facilitate ongoing collecting and include an education centre and conservation studio.
Tony Conder, chief executive at the BPMA commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the BPMA to establish a centre for the long term, which will ensure the ongoing preservation of the nationally important collections we manage and enable audiences to enjoy the treasures we hold well into the future.”

Re: Postal museum finds a new home in Swindon
The move of the National Postal Museum from Central London to a remote location in Wiltshire has no doubt been planned so that the custodians won't in future be inconvenienced by visitors
