So, in my office, both the local and area Union rep have refused to give the greenlight to DM26 until the proper resources are in place.
However...
As of a week last Monday (28th September), the mail has been coming in as of the DM26 has been implemented (all the mail on yellow duties one day, all the mail on blue duties the next).
Doesn't take a genius to work out, come Monday, the resourcing plans will involve placing people in the agreed pods / singleton duties.

Re: DM26 by stealth.
It's being raced in at our depot as well even though we are under resourced and under staffed.
It's ironic that we can only get staff and duties put in if DM26 is agreed to be implemented first. The fact that it is also closer to "peak" and the busy xmas period isn't a coincidence either. It's all been choreographed.
My concern isn't how many units can deploy DM26 asap; it's whether the model is sustainable in the long run. Anyone can make the model work by extending the working day, throwing in extra resources and overtime but the question is whether it will make RM the savings that they want.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Only a few in our office now leave on the new finish times, most are staying out until gone 6pm plus we are being flooded with temporary staff

Don't get sucked in by the promise of walks being added. They added walks to our depot but had no intention of actually putting anyone on them so basically they took bits off of the frames to make up walks and then lapsed them back to the original holder who now has to traipse across the depot to get the stuff that used to be on their frame,

You can easily foresee that RM will want DM26 introduced in every office by around the end of October, whether they are fully staffed or not.

Re: DM26 by stealth.
Reading between the lines, they aren't going to delay DM26 going live in an office that is about 80-90% staffed. The 3 doing 4 walks will reduce the staff needed and if the duties are actually decent sized, they won't need to employ any more staff.
Mail coming in to office in DM26 format is a sure sign it's only a week or so away.

And why exactly have you all agreed to do that?zacattack wrote: ↑Yesterday, 18:28Don't get sucked in by the promise of walks being added. It's not a case of agreeing but just being told what you have to do?Acca Dacca wrote: ↑Yesterday, 21:42And why exactly have you all agreed to do that?zacattack wrote: ↑Yesterday, 18:28Don't get sucked in by the promise of walks being added. Its lapsing and no unit should be lapsing right now on implementationTopperGas wrote: ↑Yesterday, 22:09It's not a case of agreeing but just being told what you have to do?Acca Dacca wrote: ↑Yesterday, 21:42And why exactly have you all agreed to do that?zacattack wrote: ↑Yesterday, 18:28Don't get sucked in by the promise of walks being added. They are either new walks or they arent - if they are off the frame then its new walks and if you are being asked to take bits off new walks as well as what you are supposed to in DM26 then its lapsing
