Delays continue with the delivery of post across Nuneaton as the town's MP says she too has experienced issues.

CoventryLive reported that some locals were left 'waiting weeks' for their mail, including birthday cards from August and hospital appointment letters

Jodie Gosling, the town's voice in Parliament, said she too had experienced issues with receiving post on time.

She said that she is now taking up the case with the powers that be at Royal Mail and wants to get the full picture of the extent of the issues by launching a survey for locals to take part in.

The local MP has also been quick to thank local post staff who are 'doing their very best in difficult circumstances'.

"I have spoken to and raised postal delays with Ministers and Royal Mail on numerous occasions, and I will continue to press for improvements until constituents receive the reliable service they deserve," she said.

"Most recently, I signed a letter to the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade calling for OFCOM to have greater powers to hold Royal Mail to account.

"At the same time, I want to thank our hardworking postal workers. I know many staff are doing their very best in difficult circumstances, and the problems facing the postal service are not a reflection of their commitment to our communities."

What Royal Mail said
CoventryLive previously put concerns to Royal Mail and a spokesperson said that they take concerns about deliveries 'very seriously'.

The spokesperson added that mail is delivered across the town daily but can be impacted by 'short term local issues'.

"We know how important it is for customers to receive their mail when expected and take concerns about deliveries very seriously," the Royal Mail spokesperson said.

"Our service is improving across the UK, with 85% of First Class mail now delivered the next working day and 98.1% delivered within three days. We know there is more to do and are investing £500 million over five years to improve reliability across the network.

"Mail continues to be delivered across Nuneaton every day, although individual routes can, at times, be affected by short-term local issues. Where this happens, we work to return deliveries to normal as quickly as possible."
