Concerns have been raised about delays to post across parts of Nuneaton as some have been 'waiting for weeks'.

Some claimed that they have received mail, such as birthday cards and even hospital appointments, weeks late over the past month.

It has led to some locals questioning what is happening to the delivery of standard mail.

CoventryLive put these concerns to Royal Mail and a spokesperson said that they take concerns about deliveries 'very seriously'.

The spokesperson added that mail is delivered across the town daily but can be impacted by 'short term local issues'.

"We know how important it is for customers to receive their mail when expected and take concerns about deliveries very seriously," the Royal Mail spokesperson said.

"Our service is improving across the UK, with 85% of First Class mail now delivered the next working day and 98.1% delivered within three days. We know there is more to do and are investing £500 million over five years to improve reliability across the network.

"Mail continues to be delivered across Nuneaton every day, although individual routes can, at times, be affected by short-term local issues. Where this happens, we work to return deliveries to normal as quickly as possible."
