Stourbridge - Royal Mail offer 'free-of-charge service' to residents affected by fire

Royal Mail is offering free support to the Stourbridge residents affected by recent fires.

The company has announced a three-month complimentary mail redirection service for people displaced by the blazes, to help them continue receiving post while unable to return home.

Mail will be held at the Stourbridge Delivery Office for collection until a redirection is in place or residents are able to move back to their properties.

Royal Mail said: "We are offering a free-of-charge three-month redirection service for those directly affected by the fires.

"Alternatively, residents' mail will be held at Stourbridge Delivery Office for collection."

"This arrangement will remain in place until either a redirection service has been established or residents are able to return to their properties."

The company has also considered residents who may have lost personal documents in the fires.

Royal Mail said: "We appreciate that some residents may be unable to provide the forms of identification normally required when collecting mail due to the fires."

"Those who are unable to provide standard identification should contact us directly to discuss the options available to support them on a case-by-case basis."
