Accident at work

Post by hero22 »

End of last year i was in an accident while working, woman crashed into me. Worked on for a couple of days before the pain in neck and back set in and i was off a week.

Manager put it down as illness, i argued along with union it was a work related accident and shouldn’t count and he eventually said he had changed it on system.

Currently off after a accident at home with a back and ankle injury and instantly they have taken two days pay off me. I assume this is being counted as my 2nd period off and I haven’t been off in over 2 years apart from that accident last year. Our office now has no union rep and was just wondering what the best course of action would be ?
Accidents at work don’t count towards sickness do they ?

I know manager will say oh i changed that and am waiting to hear back from HR.

Assuming your in the union just speak to the area rep and get him to earn his money/your subs?

Sounds like he didn’t fill out an Erica and just put u off as sick and crossed his fingers, just ask the question and say they shouldn’t count if the pay isn’t reinstated pass onto area rep
