ROYAL Mail has responded after a Bradford woman expressed her frustration after having no post delivered for more than two weeks.
Jacqueline Tynan, of Main Street in Wilsden, told the Telegraph & Argus she had not received any post for two-and-a-half weeks.
She said: “I was told by a postman that they have to prioritise parcels and First Class mail.
“It’s not good enough, is it?
Royal Mail explain delays
Royal Mail explained that mail is still being delivered in Wilsden but short-term local issues, including sickness, can affect deliveries on some routes.
A spokesperson said: “We know how important reliable deliveries are, particularly when people are waiting for bills, medical information or other important letters.
“We are continuing to deliver mail across Wilsden.
“At times, individual routes may be affected by short-term local issues, such as sickness absence.
“Where this happens, our teams work to clear any outstanding mail as quickly as possible, with items not delivered that day prioritised for the next working day.
“All mail is important.
“However, during periods of disruption, time-sensitive items may be prioritised.
“This includes First Class mail and medical letters.”
