Royal Mail has confirmed delivery delays affecting parts of Flintshire and Llangollen today, blaming staffing and other local issues at two delivery offices.
The operator says it is rotating rounds and providing extra support in a bid to get services back to normal as soon as possible.
Royal Mail customers in parts of Deeside and Llangollen are being warned to expect delays to their post today, Monday, June 22.
The postal operator said local issues at its Deeside Delivery Office, which covers the CH5 area, and the Llangollen SUDO office, serving LL20, mean some addresses may not receive mail as usual.
It has not specified how many households are affected or how long the disruption could last.
In an update published on its website, Royal Mail said it still aims to deliver to every address it has mail for, six days a week, but acknowledged that in a small number of places this is 'temporarily not be possible'.
The statement says that in those cases, deliveries are rotated to minimise delays for individual customers and "targeted support" is provided to affected offices so service can be restored to normal levels.
The update adds: "We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."
Customers who have received a Something for You card are being advised to check Royal Mail's Services Near You page for details of their nearest Customer Service Point and up-to-date opening hours before travelling to collect items.
The online tool allows people to search for local collection points by postcode and see when they are open, as well as other services they offer.
Residents in the affected areas are being urged to allow extra time for letters and parcels to arrive, particularly important items such as hospital appointment letters, bank cards and legal documents.
Anyone concerned about missing or significantly delayed post is being encouraged to check Royal Mail's latest service updates online, use parcel tracking where available, or contact the sender to discuss alternative arrangements.
People worried about missing or severely delayed post are also being advised that they may, in some circumstances, be able to claim compensation if an item sent using a Royal Mail service has been lost, damaged or seriously delayed.
Citizens Advice says that in most cases either the sender or the intended recipient can make a claim, but they will usually need proof of posting and details of how and when the item was sent.
