A blundering lorry driver blocked a major Birmingham city centre street after taking a tight turn that it could not make.

The DPD truck became trapped for 15 minutes after turning from Temple Road West onto Colmore Row as shocked passers-by watched on.

West Midlands Police officers later arrived to help "straighten things out".

Parked cars to the right of the lorry were then moved to allow the HGV to make the manoeuvre.

Posting on social media, an eyewitness said: "Someone took a wrong turn!

"Guess nobody’s moving anytime soon.

"Temple Road West turning left to Colmore Row.

The eye-witness told BirminghamLive: "I suddenly saw the DPD lorry on Colmore Row making a turn it couldn’t do.

"The road was blocked for about 10-15 minutes.

"Police arrived to 'straighten things out' and arrange for the parked cars on the right to be moved.

"The lorry was then able to make the manoeuvre."

It does make me laugh, calling the lorry driver "blundering"
Whatever decision he made it probably would have involved calling the Police. He had two options....
1) Wait at the junction and try to get the cars moved. If not call the Police.
2) Attempt the turn and if not possible, call the police if you can't get the cars moved.
