A man said he will not order items delivered by Evri anymore due to “nightmare” issues.
Alan Burton, 59, lives in Hereford Court in Kemp Town and says he has numerous issues with the delivery courier Evri.
Mr Burton said it has been a “nightmare” as parcels meant for Hereford Street nearby are instead delivered to his flat in Hereford Court.
He has had to return the parcels to the correct address himself, he reported.
He also said parcels are left on doorsteps in his block.
“I don’t order anything anymore,” Mr Burton said.
“The delivery driver is delivering parcels for Hereford Street to Hereford Court.
“I can’t get through to customer service.
“I will only order if they are delivered by Royal Mail or Amazon.”
Mr Burton said he visited a distribution centre in Old Shoreham Road, but was “turned away” when he attempted to raise the problems.
He said: “I went up to have a word. I was basically thrown out, they said ‘you have got to go through the proper complaints procedure, can you leave the building’.”
Evri has since apologised for the error and visited Mr Burton.
A spokesman for Evri said: “We’re on track to deliver more than 900 million parcels this year with the vast majority delivered successfully on time.
“We’re sorry that on this occasion the courier made a genuine mistake and delivered this parcel to a similar address on the same street.
“Our local team went to redeliver the parcel, but the resident had kindly passed it on to their neighbour.”
Mr Burton alleged that he had parcels meant for Hereford Street delivered to his flat several times.
Last month, a woman reported receiving a torn package covered with what appeared to be bite marks and paw prints.
The Peacehaven resident, who wished to remain anonymous, received flowers, chocolates and a card for her birthday via a delivery from Evri on October 4.
The package was handed to her on delivery by the courier at the door, and was not left unattended before she opened it, she said.
Immediately she noticed that the box in which the gifts had arrived had chunks missing and inside, she claimed the chocolates had clear bite marks in them.
