Helen Morgan, MP for North Shropshire, has spoken out against the decision, especially as the Oswestry branch remains under threat.
She said the services need improving, not axing,' and warned that vulnerable people, already isolated by poor public transport, will be the ones to suffer.
Residents backing the campaign to safeguard and enhance Post Office services in rural communities are being urged to sign Ms Morgan’s petition at helenmorgan.org.uk/post-offices.
This forms part of Ms Morgan's continuing efforts to keep Oswestry Post Office open, following the announcement that the Willow Street branch is among 115 crown branches the Post Office plans to close.
Thousands of residents have signed the MP’s petition to save Oswestry Post Office, concerned about the potential loss of the area’s only branch offering a full range of services to small businesses.
The Post Office has confirmed that outreach services in Cockshutt, Clive, Knockin, Weston Rhyn, West Felton, Ruyton XI Towns and Shawbury are all due to close.
Most of these services had been operated by the postmistress in Trefonen, who has recently stepped down from the role.
As a result, the Post Office is now looking for applicants to operate branches in Trefonen, the centre of Oswestry, and the Cabin Lane area, where the current Co-op is set to close in July.
Ms Morgan, who met with the Post Office on Friday to press for the protection of services, plans to present her petition in Parliament and is keen to hear from constituents impacted by the changes to services in the area.
She said: "I’m very disappointed that the Post Office is choosing to cut services at a time when they need improving, not axing.
"Vulnerable and elderly people who are already isolated and cut off from nearby services will suffer as a result.
