Ipswich Ninja air fryer thieves sentenced by magistrates

Two Ipswich men have been sentenced after stealing thousands of pounds worth of air fryers from the delivery firm Evri.

Vasila Danila and Robert Baiculescu, former employees of Evri, pleaded guilty to stealing 20 Ninja-branded air fryers worth £5,000 in Bury St Edmunds last November.

Their guilty pleas were taken into account during their sentencing at Suffolk Magistrates' Court last month.

Danila, 28, of Anglesea Road, Ipswich, was ordered to pay £2,500 in compensation back to the company, and will also serve 16 weeks in prison.

Danila will pay no surcharge or legal fees, as magistrates felt that compensation should take priority, which will be paid back in full on his release.

Baiculescu, 30, of Fountains Road, Ipswich, was also ordered £2,500 in compensation and was spared jail time in favour of unpaid work.

Baiculescu must complete 150 hours of community service within 12 months of his sentencing.


As well as compensation, he must pay £85 in legal costs and a £114 surcharge, taking his total of costs to £2,699 which Suffolk Magistrates' Court has ordered to be paid in monthly instalments of £200.
