AN Amazon customer was left frustrated after a delivery driver was caught carelessly throwing a 10kg bag of cat food on to her property – resulting in the bag splitting open.
Jordan Smith, 29, was at home in Harwich, last Friday when an Amazon delivery driver damaged her delivery by throwing it down.
She received a Ring doorbell notification that a delivery had been made, but while walking downstairs to get it, she had heard a heavy thump.
When she opened the front door, she was greeted by cat food spilt everywhere.
Her Ring doorbell caught the moment that shows the Amazon delivery drive throwing the package.
The stay-at-home mum was not happy.
She said: "It was really annoying, to say the least.
"At least half of the bag's contents had spilled out and it was a right pain to clean up due to an ongoing issue with my back.
"I could see the delivery guy looking back in the video as well, so he must have noticed it.
"But I don't doubt that the driver must have had a lot of orders to deliver that day.
"Maybe he just thought that we would get a refund on it anyway."
Amazon is an international online shopping website.
Customers can buy a range of goods from technology to food and everything in between.
The American firm was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 in Bellevue, Washington.
It offers a ‘Prime’ next day delivery service for many of its goods and has expanded to offer services such as digital television and film streaming.
Jordan followed the situation up with Amazon's customer support, which ultimately refunded the full £26 that the dry cat food cost.
A spokesman for Amazon said: “We have very high standards for our delivery service providers.
"We’re looking into this.”
