AN OVERTURNED Royal Mail van brought a busy city centre road to a standstill this morning.
The crash forced police to close the slip road leaving the Coventry Ring Road at Junction 3 anti-clockwise between 8am and 9am.
This caused huge tailbacks during the morning rush hour.
A spokesperson for Traffic Link said: "With the weather being bad and children across Coventry being back at school there was a lot more traffic on the roads."
"So the closure of a major city centre road caused a lot of disruption."
More heavy rain last night and this morning was expected to cause chaos across Coventry and Warwickshire today.
