LTB 236/23 - NATIONAL BRANCH BRIEFING - CWU FUTURE / RESTRUCTURING
No: 236/23

14th September 2023

TO: ALL BRANCHES

Dear Colleague

NATIONAL BRANCH BRIEFING – CWU FUTURE / RESTRUCTURING

As part of the process adopted by the NEC to plan for the future of the CWU and meet the significant financial and structural challenges facing the union, we have arranged a National Branch Briefing, the details of which are as follows: –

Date: Friday 29th September 11.00 – 14.30
Venue: TUC, Congress House, 23-28 Great Russell St, London, WC1B 3LS

Branches will be aware this Briefing is taking place against an unprecedented few years, including the substantial changes taking place within the industries we operate in, the impact of COVID, major disputes and a very difficult economic environment.

It is therefore important that the whole union takes stock of where we are and that we make the right decisions for our future.

This National Briefing is the start of an extensive consultation process during which Branches will have the opportunity to shape our future plans culminating in proposals that will be placed before the union’s Conference in 2024.

It is essential that all Branches are represented at the Briefing and a more detailed agenda will be forwarded in due course.

Any enquiries on the arrangements for the Briefing should be directed to the SDGS department.

Your sincerely

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
