Last day for all agency staff today.

According to my agency friends and managers, all agency staff have been dropped, at least on delivery. Normally at this time of year they are back within a month, but who knows this year?

It will create some massive gaps for my DO's as we have more vacant roles than ever before.

Will be interesting to see if we have any casuals on any shifts in our MC Monday. If we don't we'll probably have to start to sacrifice manual letters and flats to be able to staff normal packets and Tracked. If it got bad enough the next thing to be sacrificed would be sequencing, we'd have to go for walk sort only to free up staff. If things got bad enough then the mech would just have to be sorted to office level only as that only needs an iLSM or IMP.

That'd get interesting real quick as most DOs have reduced IPS fittings to the bare minimum

And all the experienced older sorters have got vr or have left because they had enough we have one guy that can sort the mail quick when he's off it's chaos.

Pre COVID there was always a shortfall of staff on Delivery by September.RM never recruited during the summer due to the reduced workload and then had a mad scramble to get enough delivery staff in for Xmas.To cover the shortfall in staff Managers from projects and planning used to be rounded up to go and work in delivery for a couple of weeks.Needless to say this was not welcomed.

On the Tracked Lumps and Small last night there were 5 Royal Mail Staff and 18 Casuals so read into that what you will. The problem is with all the Chinese/Foreign International Returning to the Locker and the New Passport Contract the SDE Staff that had been moved over to Tracked and those Tracked Staff trained in the Locker have had to return hence no actual Tracked Staff. Cannot wait until next Wednesday and Friday when there is a Tube Strike as about 15 staff transferred from Mount Pleasant will be going there with no one left to replace them
